The Town Board has passed the 2023 Budget . The budget includes is $583,320 in direct OPL funding! With careful planning and detailed discussion among Trustees, the library director, and elected officials, an agreement reduced $20,000 support from the original library request, yet still produced the highest Town funding for the library since 2014! We believe we are now position to advance more scheduled programming, new resources, and other services in the new year.
Friends of the Ontario Public Library and other area organizations, employees, and volunteers were challenged to support funding request. Thank you to all Friends, Members, and residents who contacted Town elected officials. My gratitude extends also to Town Supervisor, Frank Robusto; Library Liaison, Councilman Mark D’Angelo, and elected town officials for respectfully considering the budget request following answers to their questions and suggestions responding to their comments. Finally, the staff and I thank the volunteer Trustees for their personal time and talents, as well as, board efforts leading us to this success!
