Town Budget Cuts Force Trustees to Reduce Hours

Posted in

With the Town Board cut of $75,000 to our 2015 requested funding, and the final cut by Wayne County of funds totaling $8600 in three years, the Library Trustees made the difficult decision to reduce some staff hours and several library hours of operation.  Programming budgets, library materials, equipment, and supplies are also cut.

These cuts to hours are the first part in our efforts to reduce staff wages.  The new Library schedule will change on January 3, 2015 to these hours.

Thank you: Friends Used Book Sale Success

The Officers of the Friends of the Ontario Public Library extend their thanks to Friends and community members who generously supported the Annual Book Sale last week. Special thanks goes out to all volunteers who gave of their time and energy setting up tables, moving and sorting books, selling and cleaning up after the sale!  We also want to thank library patrons and other visitors who supported this effort with their purchases.  All around: we could not have done it without you!
